As part of this internship, you’ll have the opportunity to join a small team and contribute to a new, unannounced IP for PC and console! The internship is expected to begin around September and end in mid-December, depending on candidate availability.
From the start of your adventure with us, you will be expected to:
- As part of a team based in Montreal, you will contribute to the creation of 3D assets (both organic and hard surface) for environments, vehicles, and props, while maintaining, and pushing, the visual quality standards of the project.
- Complete 3D production tasks using standard industry software or proprietary tools.
- Create low- and high-poly assets (environments, props, technical elements).
- Perform UV mapping, texturing, and material adjustments within the game engine.
- Take ownership of an existing 3D asset pack and autonomously add or modify content as needed.
- Integrate and tweak models directly in the Unity engine.
- Use available communication channels to efficiently relay questions, feedback, and updates to teammates and leads.
- Follow the established artistic direction while contributing ideas that align with it.
- Work with version control and data management tools (Perforce, Fork, etc.).
Required Skills and Experience:
- Strong understanding of the technical constraints of game production.
- Interest in video games, particularly action, adventure, and survival genres.
- Proficiency with traditional 3D modeling workflows, creating optimized assets for games.
- Mastery of production tools such as Blender, Photoshop, Substance Designer/Painter.
- Interest and experience with modular construction workflows.
- Solid artistic fundamentals (color theory, composition, lighting).
- Experience working with Unity engine.
- Broad visual culture across fields such as architecture, design, cinema, comics, and games.
- Open-minded, motivated, curious, and self-critical.
- Organized, efficient, and autonomous.
