Job Details
We are seeking an Online General Education Instructor to join our team. This position will cover general education courses in the ASVN, BSN, and RN to BSN degree completion programs.
Courses to be taught include:
- Anatomy & Physiology
- English
- Intermediate Algebra
- Psychology
- Public Speaking
- Sociology
- Managerial Statistics
- Lifespan Development
- History
- General Chemistry & Organic Biologic Chemistry
- Nutrition
- Ethics
- Political Science
- Critical Reasoning
Responsibilities Include:
- Instructing students and developing coursework for assigned classes
- Improving instruction by using innovative teaching methods
- Assisting with syllabi and instructional guideline reviews
- Evaluating student progress, providing feedback, and informing students of their progress
- Assisting with program strategic planning and assessment
- Maintaining student records (attendance, grades)
- Utilizing the Learning Management System (LMS) for course delivery
- Providing student communication via office hours, email, etc.
- Participating in professional development, maintaining CE hours (if applicable)
- Participating in quarterly faculty meetings
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean-Online Programs/Program Director-Online Nursing
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree; Doctoral degree preferred
- Experience demonstrating student mentoring ability
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Previous online teaching experience utilizing an LMS
- Documented background in educational methodology
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
