J.S. Held is seeking an engineering student to support the Surety/Construction Advisory division.
The division consults on construction projects with contract defaults. This involves investigating project defaults and developing solutions for clients.
Responsibilities include:
- Detailed review of construction contracts, drawings, and specifications
- Visiting construction sites and recording information
- Attending meetings with clients, owners, contractors, and subcontractors
- Reviewing progress draws, invoices, and documentation
- Analyzing project costs
- Reviewing and analyzing project schedules
- Collaboratively developing recommendations for clients
- Intermittent administrative duties
Required Qualifications:
- Able to commute to Etobicoke, Ontario (East of Pearson Airport)
- Analytical abilities
- Commercial or contract mindset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Proficient in Excel
- Ability to write technical documents
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
