Job Details

We are seeking a versatile and skilled AI/SLAM Architect. The ideal candidate will own applying advanced machine learning techniques, computer vision, and hardware technologies to create and optimize SLAM algorithms. This includes enhancing and extending image recognition/training pipelines, visual positioning systems, and liaising with the wider technical team on their implementation into real-world applications. This is a hands-on role.

Key Responsibilities

  1. AI/ML/SLAM Algorithm Development
    • Enhance our Prototype: Enhance and extend our functional prototype into a robust SLAM system ready for deployment.
    • Develop machine learning models: Develop solutions to enhance SLAM accuracy, robustness, and efficiency.
    • Sensor Data Processing: Process data from sensors (WebXR, LiDAR, cameras, IMUs, GPS) for real-time mapping and localization.
    • Determine appropriate technology/technique usage: Implement and improve 2D, 3D, and visual SLAM techniques.
    • Deep Learning: Experiment with deep learning frameworks to improve SLAM performance in dynamic environments.
    • Identify and resolve defects: Work closely with the business to identify, to identify and optimize our solutions.
    • Ensure security by design: Integrate security/privacy best practices into the learning process.
    • Optimize for performance and scalability: Design and implement scalable solutions with high performance. Use profiling tools to identify and optimize performance bottlenecks.
  2. Agile Development
    • Agile Focus: Contribute to an Agile development environment.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Maths or related field (Master's/Ph.D. preferred)
  • Experience: Proven experience in developing and deploying SLAM algorithms, strong understanding of machine learning, computer vision, and sensor fusion, experience on mission-critical or SaaS services.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Python, Pipelines, Cloud Computing, CLI fundamentals, GPU programming, and real-time performance optimization. Experience with mobile device hardware, camera capabilities, and geo services.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and pay attention to detail.
