Opportunity at a Glance Contributing faculty members serve in a part-time capacity to educate Walden University Students. Effectively using online technology and resources to impart knowledge, information, feedback, and critique to students through thoughtful, well-written, and timely communications.
Responsibilities
- Training: All new Faculty Members receive training in teaching techniques, online platform use, school/college policies, procedures and degree programs, Walden University culture, academic integrity assessment (Turnitin), and research supervision.
- Course Teaching: Faculty members teach courses using eCollege, interacting with students on discussion boards (open 24/7). Postings must be timely, and responses to student questions within 48 hours. Verification of student postings and submissions is required, along with providing feedback and grades through Canvas.
- Other Duties: May perform other duties as assigned.
- Availability: Faculty are expected to be reasonably accessible to students, including online office hours or regular online chats.
- Residencies: Faculty may attend domestic or international residencies, potentially teaching intensives and colloquia (optional for part-time faculty).
- Education and Experience: Doctorate in Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA-D), or approved area, with valid BCBA or BCBA-D certification. Demonstrated professional experience in Applied Behavior Analysis and teaching experience at the degree level is preferred. A commitment to student needs in a distance learning environment is essential.
- Licensure and Certification: Appropriate credentials, earned degree in the discipline taught, and valid BCBA or BCBA-D certification. Maintaining certifications is required.
