Full-Time Backend Engineer

Responsibilities
- Greenfield development as well as improving current platform architecture, backend services, APIs, and systems written in TypeScript & Node
- Design, optimize, and implement efficient data structures in MongoDB and Elasticsearch
- Enhance search capabilities and recommendation systems data pipelines to manage and process large-scale data efficiently
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate diverse services and data sources
- Implement and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes for scalable solutions
- Ensure high performance, security, and availability of backend infrastructure
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues in both development and production environments
- Contribute to architectural discussions, bringing innovative ideas and solutions to the team

Requirements
- 6-12 years of experience and track record of shipping high-quality products and features at scale
- Recent production experience building backend services and APIs using Node.js & TypeScript
- Experience with building API's end to end and event-driven software or Microservices
- Experience with setting up data infrastructure, ETL, and large scale data systems and various tools such as MongoDB
- Expertise in AWS cloud services, Terraform was a big plus
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Strong communication skills and the ability to contribute to architectural decisions

Preferred:
- Previous experience at both startup environments and larger tech companies like Twitter or Meta
- Demonstrated ability to design and build systems from scratch including data infra
