Part-Time BigCommerce Developer

BigCommerce ( Remote - Part Time )

We are looking for a skilled BigCommerce Developer to build, optimize, and maintain an eCommerce website using the BigCommerce platform.

Key Responsibilities

1. Build a website using BigCommerce
• Set up a BigCommerce account and create a new store.
• Upload products.
• Collaborate on design choices (pre-templated, customizable).
• Integrate features (payment gateways, shipping options, product categories).
2. Add and optimize product pages.
3. Discuss and propose web design direction to client (Jason):
• Schedule a meeting to understand Jason’s vision.
• Present design mockups/concepts.
• Discuss style, color palette, UX, and branding elements.
• Gather feedback for refinement.
4. Basic SEO:
• Optimize for search engines (title tags, meta descriptions, header tags, keywords, alt-text, clean URLs).
5. Run Google ad campaigns (with client):
• Determine target audience, budget, and goals.
• Highlight specific products/services.
• Set up campaigns targeting relevant keywords, demographics, and locations.
• Track and adjust campaign strategy.
6. Maintain the website and address bugs:
• Monitor for bugs and issues.
• Test functionality (links, payments, forms).
• Update content, promotions, and seasonal products.
• Ensure regular backups and security.

Qualifications

• BigCommerce API experience.
• Liquid templating language knowledge.
• Basic SEO experience.
• Front-end and back-end development skills.
• Responsive design experience.
• Version control system (Git) familiarity.
