About the Role: This role will define how motion shows up across webAI's brand and product experiences. From expressive homepage storytelling to subtle UI interactions, this hire will help build the emotional layer of our design system—adding clarity, personality, and depth to how people experience webAI. They’ll be instrumental in shaping our evolving brand identity, making abstract ideas feel intuitive, and translating complex technology into elegant, human moments. As the first dedicated motion designer on the team, they’ll also lay the groundwork for scalable, performant motion principles that can grow with us.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and execute motion strategies that enhance webAI's brand and product experiences, from homepage storytelling to UI interactions.
- Work with product, design, and marketing teams to create cohesive, intuitive animations that align with brand identity and user needs.
- Create high-quality prototypes and animations, ensuring smooth communication and integration using tools like After Effects, Figma, Rive, and Lottie.
- Build scalable motion design principles that grow with the brand and ensure consistency across touchpoints.
- Simplify and humanize abstract concepts through clear, engaging motion design. Focus on timing, typography, and polish to maintain a high standard of design across all animations.
- Stay updated on industry trends and implement innovative motion design solutions that drive brand recognition and user engagement.
- Ensure animations are visually compelling and optimized for performance across different devices and platforms.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in motion design, ideally with a mix of product and brand work
- A portfolio or reel showcasing expressive, purposeful animation—especially in web or UI environments
- Comfort working in ambiguity and early-stage ideas, with the ability to turn abstract prompts into actionable outcomes
- A strong sense of typography, timing, and polish—where every detail matters
- A systems-thinking mindset and self-starter attitude—you push for better and bring new ideas to the table
- Strong presentation and communication skills, with a habit of proactive collaboration
- Proficiency in After Effects, Figma, Cinema 4D, and experience animating for product interfaces
- Familiarity with tools like Lottie, Rive, and Principle (or similar) for prototyping and implementation
