The Business Development Manager drives company growth and expansion, partnering with RRD Sales to identify new business opportunities with existing customers. They leverage strategic partnerships and lead initiatives enhancing the company's market presence.
Responsibilities
- Primary point of contact for Asia packaging & label platform business development initiatives.
- Develops colleagues' and customers' understanding of Asia packaging & label platforms.
- Develops and executes a vetting process for new opportunities with National Sales, Strategy, and Business Development.
- Follows up on Packaging & label Opportunities in Salesforce, ensuring complete and accurate information and Salesforce adoption.
- Identifies and analyzes market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
- Evaluates new business opportunities (clients, partnerships, markets).
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with sales reps.
- Prepares proposals and presentations for clients and partners, aligning with strategic objectives and value proposition.
- Collaborates with marketing, sales, and product development for alignment on business goals and messaging.
- Collaborates with senior management to define and prioritize initiatives.
- Solves complex problems using analytical thought and identifies innovative sales solutions.
- Understands customer needs, feedback, and objections, identifying and explaining solutions.
- Persuades customers using judgment, discretion, and creativity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 5+ years experience in packaging industry, preferably folding cartons.
- Packaging Knowledge – Folding Carton, Rigid Box, Pulp Tray, Inserts, Corrugate, POP Displays, Retail & Industrial Packaging.
- 3+ years experience in business development, contracts, licensing, or marketing.
- Experience with Global Brands and marketplaces.
- Asia (China & SEA) packaging, label, and supply chain understanding.
- Understanding of Asia (China & SEA) competitive landscape and challenges.
Skills and Certifications
