Job Details
The Business Development Manager supports M&A, licensing, and partnering activities. Responsibilities include: origination of targets, assessing potential collaboration, building relationships with partners, and leading post-agreement integration.
Requires cross-functional collaboration within LGC and partner companies. A strong understanding of the life sciences and diagnostics market, technology, and IP landscape is essential.
Support development of inorganic global genomics business growth strategy, portfolio plans, and product/tactical marketing.
- Originate and scope potential collaborations with target partners.
- Track progress towards strategic targets and manage key relationships.
- Manage and facilitate strategic projects.
- Develop business case models and proposals for acquisitions/partnering.
- Identify growth opportunities through market expansion and portfolio development with Portfolio Management.
- Explore alternative business models (licensing, JV, etc.) for accelerated growth.
- Identify technology for in-sourcing/licensing/distribution.
- Support market landscape assessments for key target areas.
- Support implementation of global strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in molecular biology/life science or equivalent.
- Master's degree preferred.
- 8+ years of commercial experience in life sciences/diagnostics, including business transactions.
- Deep understanding of the life sciences/diagnostics marketplace, technologies, and products.
- Proven experience in business development/strategic marketing, partnering, and M&A.
- Experience in global, matrixed environments.
- Strong financial modeling skills and ability to interpret financial statements.
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally (up to 50%).
