Intern Campaigns Intern

The Campaigns Department at Oxfam challenges US policymakers in government and the private sector to better address inequality and we are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Intern.

Campaign interns gain experience in public campaigning, organizing, research, and advocacy on a wide range of issues.

Responsibilities

1. Provide research support and capacity to Campaign Leads and Organizing Advisors on campaign issues and tactics.
2. Organizing and events such as musical festivals and other volunteer recruitment.
3. Congressional targets, external landscape and more as needed.
4. Provide administrative support for campaign meetings.
5. Provide technical and logistical support for Campaigns' webinars, trainings and other in-person and virtual events.
6. Support the management and recruitment efforts of the Sisters on the Planet Ambassadors program.
7. Support the Oxfam Action Network for an Equal Future.
8. Support the Campaigns Specialist with Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) initiatives.
9. Support knowledge and information sharing and management processes.
10. Provide other administrative and project support to the Campaigns Department staff.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or higher, or comparable work experience
• Strong organizational, writing and communication skills
• Ability to work well with others
• Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Previous administrative and research experience preferred
• Familiarity with Outlook, Zoom and Microsoft Office products preferred
• Interest in furthering knowledge about Oxfam and global social justice issues
• High level of personal energy and commitment

Salary - $17.00 an hour

Position is 35 hours a week with some flexibility.

Oxfam America is a hybrid workplace and this position can be remote or work in-person out of the Boston or DC offices.

Note that campaigns department staff are located across the US and primarily work remotely.

There is a preference for DC-based candidates for this role.
