Full-Time Computer Systems Engineer SME (Remote)

Salary Range: Up to $178,600 yearly. Pay rate varies based on skills, experience, and location.

Overview: As a Computer Systems Engineer/Architect SME, design, implement, and optimize advanced computer systems. Collaborate with teams to develop robust solutions, adhering to industry best practices.

Responsibilities:

1. System Design & Architecture: Lead design and architecture of computer systems (hardware, software, networking, storage).
2. Technology Evaluation: Evaluate emerging technologies based on performance, scalability, reliability, and cost.
3. Performance Optimization: Identify and address bottlenecks in existing systems to optimize performance, throughput, and resource utilization.
4. Security & Compliance: Integrate security measures, ensuring compliance with regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS).
5. Scalability & Resilience: Design scalable systems with redundancy and failover mechanisms.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with software developers, network engineers, and other stakeholders.
7. Documentation: Create technical documentation (system design, architecture diagrams, implementation guides).
8. Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, advancements, and best practices.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum 7-10 years in database architecture, design, and administration.
• Database Expertise: Expertise in relational (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) databases.
• Database Skills: Proficiency in database design, data modeling, and optimization.
• Security: Strong understanding of database security best practices and compliance.
• Administration: Experience with backup and recovery, performance monitoring, and capacity planning.
• Cloud Experience: Experience with cloud-based database technologies (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) is a plus.
• Problem Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Clearance: US Citizen with Active Public Trust/MBI or ability to obtain one.
