Job Details
As Content & Social Media Intern, you will support on the creation, execution, and optimization of multi-channel content—primarily on Instagram and other social platforms—to engage and grow our community of health- and wellness-minded members.
You’ll work closely with senior leadership to translate complex wellness topics into concise, visually engaging posts, stories, and short-form videos.
Required skills:
- Content Strategy & Planning:
- Develop a quarterly social media calendar aligned with program launches, member milestones, and industry trends.
- Research trending topics in preventive health, nutrition, exercise, and emotional well-being to inform timely, relevant content ideas.
- Define clear objectives (reach, engagement, click-through) for each campaign or content series.
- Program Content Creation & Quality Control:
- Write concise articles, worksheets, and guidelines that simplify evidence-informed health concepts for a consumer audience.
- Create and maintain a library of content assets to ensure visual consistency.
- Fact-check all health-related claims against reputable sources (clinical guidelines, peer-reviewed studies) before publishing.
- Program Video Development & Editing:
- Develop video scripts (5-10 minutes) based on our program content.
- Film or direct freelance videographers/freelance editors to capture and polish footage: oversee storyboarding, voice-over recording, captioning, and final cut sign-off.
- Edit basic video clips yourself (using tools like descript.com), ensuring pacing, captions, and branding are on point.
- Social Media Management & Growth:
- Own Instagram account: schedule daily posts/stories, monitor DMs and comments, and respond or escalate member questions.
- Grow follower count from 0 to 10k+ —community engagement, strategic hashtag use, and cross-promotions with wellness partners.
- Project Management & Remote Execution:
- Maintain a detailed project management (ClickUp/Notion/Google Sheets) with deadlines.
- Coordinate directly with freelance designers, videographers, and others—assign tasks, confirm delivery dates, and review work for brand alignment.
- Maintain a consistent, distraction-free workspace.
- Track your work hours daily and submit a simple weekly timesheet so leadership can monitor project progress and resource allocation.
- Proven Content Development Experience: 1-2 years content development / marketing experience.
- Portfolio of past work: sample posts, reels, short videos, or written articles demonstrating strong storytelling, visual sense, and engagement.
- Social Media Expertise (Instagram Focus):
- Deep familiarity with Instagram’s features (Reels, Stories, IGTV, Guides) and best practices for growth, algorithm engagement, and community interaction.
- Experience using scheduling tools and basic analytics dashboards (Instagram Insights, Google Analytics, or similar).
- Strong Writing & Editorial Judgment:
- Excellent command of English: able to translate clinical or technical concepts into clear, conversational copy that resonates with a lay audience.
- Meticulous attention to detail in grammar, tone, and brand voice; you catch typos and fact errors before publishing.
- Hands-On Content Skills:
- Proficiency in graphic and video editing software (e.g., Photoshop, Canva, CapCut)
- Comfortable writing, and developing visually oriented scripts for videos
- Able to storyboard simple sequences
- Bonus: Familiarity with lighting, sound recording, or graphics animation tools (After Effects, Canva) is highly advantageous.
- Self-Starter & “Do-It-Yourself” Attitude:
- Able to juggle multiple deliverables—content creation, video editing, data tracking, community engagement—without losing momentum.
- Curious about health, wellness, and longevity; you proactively suggest new content angles or partnership ideas to grow the brand.
- Remote Work Ethic:
- Maintain a dedicated home-office setup with reliable internet.
- Disciplined about tracking your hours and submitting a weekly timesheet so leadership understands your contributions and bandwidth.
