Contract Software/DevOps Engineer
About the role: As a Contract Platform Engineer, you’ll be part of a client team building innovative products. You’ll be proficient at problem-solving, helping to deliver the core infrastructure, associated pipelines and related services in a pragmatic way. You'll be a key part of the software delivery process, from providing the platform for application developers to build on.
About You: A YLD Software Engineering Consultant exemplifies high standards in software engineering. You’ll build and deliver software within interesting projects.
Requirements
- Dev experience: Strong CI/CD experience, proficient in modern JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js (on AWS Lambda). Experience with modern frontend frameworks/meta-frameworks (React, Next.js, etc), and GraphQL (Hasura, Prisma, etc). Advocate of TDD (Writing infrastructure or code without tests should be unthinkable). Passionate about excellent software development practices.
- Ops experience: Substantial experience with container orchestration systems like Kubernetes. Strong knowledge of cloud native managed constructs, like AWS Lambda, AWS Cognito, AWS AIM, AWS ECS, AWS RDS, AWS CloudWatch, etc. Expertise in setting up monitoring, alerting, and logging systems. Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure. Thorough understanding of infrastructure as code tools like Terraform and AWS CDK. Proficient in Docker. Understanding of Load Balancers (Traefik, Nginx, HaProxy, Cloud-based Load Balancers). Experience with a Linux/RHEL/Ubuntu environment.
