Contributing Faculty - Undergraduate Studies (History)
Opportunity at a Glance Contributing faculty members serve in a part-time capacity to educate Walden University Students. This is accomplished through online technologies and resources, ensuring thoughtful, timely, and well-written communication. Faculty members adhere to Walden University faculty expectations.

College of Interdisciplinary Undergraduate Studies This new unit brings together undergraduate general education and non-licensure B.S. programs (Communication, Psychology, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Human Services, Health Studies, Health Care Management, Health Policy, and Early Childhood Studies). We support students as lifelong learners, balancing life and learning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide course instruction (asynchronous, course-based, and competency-based modalities).
- Engage in classrooms at least 4 days a week.
- Facilitate and engage in discussion boards.
- Assess student work and provide timely feedback.
- Be available to students via video chat or phone.
- Occasional additional duties may include course content development, committee involvement, administrative support, course maintenance, and building a supportive virtual classroom environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors.
Training All new faculty receive training on LMS, policies, procedures, degree programs, Walden culture, academic integrity, and AI usage.

Qualified candidates will possess
- Appropriate advanced and/or doctoral degrees with field/interdisciplinary experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to adult learner empowerment and support.
- Experience serving a diverse population of adult learners.
- Collaborative experience supporting a positive student experience.
- Experience building and fostering communities in online environments.
- Online teaching experience.
Compensation
Undergraduate Course Instruction: $700 - $2,200 per quarter.
Possible additional opportunities exist for dissertation/doctoral committee work, research, and mentoring.
