Opportunity at a Glance Contributing faculty members serve in a part-time capacity to educate Walden University Students. This is accomplished through effective online communication.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide course instruction.
- Engage in classrooms at least 4 days a week.
- Facilitate and engage in discussion boards.
- Assess student work and provide timely feedback.
- Be available to students via video chat or phone.
- Occasional additional duties may include:
- Course content development
- Service on university and school committees
- Support administrative needs
- Course maintenance
Training All new faculty members receive specific online teaching training, and mentorship.

Qualified candidates will possess
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering empowerment and supporting adult learners.
- Experience with and dedication to serving a diverse population of adult learners.
- Experience working collaboratively with faculty and staff.
- Completion of appropriate advanced and/or doctoral degrees.
- Experience with building and fostering communities in online environments.
- Online teaching experience.
In support of the pay transparency laws, the expected compensation rate is as follows:
- Undergraduate Course Instruction: $700 - $2,200 per quarter.
