Faculty Responsibilities Course Teaching, Discussion Boards, Availability, Residencies, Other Duties

• Course Teaching: Faculty Members are assigned courses and are responsible for interacting with students in the university’s learning management system. Discussion Boards are open 24/7. Postings must be timely. Responses to student questions must be posted within 48 hours.
• Availability: Faculty are expected to be reasonably accessible to students outside the course discussion board. Publish availability through syllabi, instructor information, and/or other appropriate documents. Regular, predictable availability is suggested (e.g., online office hours or regular online chats).
• Residencies: Core Faculty (Full Time) may attend Residencies to teach intensives and colloquia and facilitate school/university-wide discussions.
• Other Duties: May chair and/or participate on thesis/dissertation committees, supervise field training and skill development courses, serve on faculty governance/academic policy committees, and participate in other activities to strengthen the academic reputation of Walden University.

Qualifications

• PhD in the field of study or closely related field.
• Three or more years of teaching experience at the degree level of the program.
• Significant record of intellectual and professional contributions to the field.
• Commitment to advocating for the learning and development needs of distance learning students.
• Experience with distance learning preferred.
• Skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), zip software, Adobe Acrobat, reliable internet access, and alternate access if primary access is unavailable.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions; reasonable accommodations will be considered for individuals with disabilities.
• Must use company laptop in accordance with Corporate Computing policy.

Salary $70,696.34 - $124,230.14 (negotiable based on experience)
