Data Platform Engineer opportunity at IT Labs.
We seek a Data Platform Engineer who understands dynamic, cross-cloud data ecosystems, crucial for business agility and compliance. Focus on building trust in data through automation, optimization, and secure engineering practices.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain efficient ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and loading into Snowflake.
- Develop and optimize Python scripts for complex data workflows.
- Implement secure and scalable deployment of data workflows across AWS and Azure, collaborating with DevOps teams.
- Manage cross-cloud data replication and migration strategies between AWS and Azure.
- Ensure HIPAA and internal governance compliance via data masking, encryption, and access controls.
- Optimize data models for analytical workloads and BI tool performance (e.g., Tableau).
- Establish and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated data pipeline deployment.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data pipelines, code changes, and cloud deployments.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve data pipeline performance, security, and reliability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align data platform strategies with business needs, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
Technical Skills:
- Minimum 5 years experience in data engineering or platform roles.
- Strong expertise in Snowflake, Python, and cloud-native data services (AWS Glue, S3, Redshift) and Azure equivalents.
- Proficiency in building and optimizing ETL/ELT processes across cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience with data migration techniques between AWS and Azure.
- Proficient in setting up CI/CD pipelines for data workflows and automating deployment.
- Deep understanding of data security practices (data masking, encryption, access control).
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance requirements and experience applying them to cloud data solutions.
- Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and audit logging.
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau and backend data model integration.
- Ability to design resilient, observable, and scalable data systems in a cloud-driven environment.
