Temporary Development Associate - TED

Position Overview:The Development Associate will report to the program’s director, and support fundraising and partnerships for the program. This is a hands-on role in fundraising and relationship building.

Responsibilities:

1. Writing and Research: Drafting, reviewing, copy-editing correspondence, researching prospective donors, developing communications for the TED Fellows community (e.g., newsletters), researching and collating articles for prospective donors, compiling dossiers, and flagging reputational risks.
2. Event and Meeting Support: Facilitating planning, scheduling meetings and events, cultivating relationships, managing the director’s calendar, tracking RSVPs, compiling materials for potential donors, and providing onsite support.
3. Information Management: Building a system for organizing and tracking donor communications, ideating and improving systems, maintaining data, exporting reports, and informing improvements to the relationship management system.

Skills & Experience:

• 3-5 years of work experience
• Experience in the nonprofit sector, network building, customer service, or fundraising
• Excellent written communication skills
• Strong document management and quality control capabilities
• Attention to detail
• Research experience
• Organization skills
• Ability to handle confidential information

Opportunity: This full-time temporary role in New York offers remote work flexibility and a chance to become permanent after 3-4 months.

Salary Range: $80,000-$90,000 USD (commensurate with experience)
