Director, Trade Relations will play a critical role in the development and execution of the trade and distribution strategy for Sobi’s product portfolio. This role leads negotiations on trade contracts, builds and maintains strong business relationships with trade accounts, and ensures successful implementation of distribution agreements. Collaborates with cross-functional partners to drive brand performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drives strategic initiatives to maximize opportunities with channel partners, achieving performance goals.
- Establishes and maintains multi-level relationships with trade accounts, conducting quarterly business reviews.
- Negotiates and manages contractual agreements with wholesalers, specialty pharmacies, and distributors.
- Builds relationships to ensure awareness of Sobi’s products and pricing.
- Supports daily activities with distribution partners for efficient product delivery.
- Analyzes local environment to develop trade customer plans aligning with business objectives.
- Monitors trade customer adherence to agreements and takes appropriate action.
- Reviews and monitors daily trade sales for demand alignment.
- Oversees trade customer returns for compliance.
- Maintains open communication across the organization, especially regarding cross-regional and cross-functional efforts.
- Provides insights on channel trends and monitors distribution services.
- Ensures integrity and compliance in all activities and communications.
- Attends and participates in meetings and conferences as requested.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
- 5+ years of management experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including contracting and negotiation.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proven success in driving sales and account development.
- Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams.
- Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in establishing high-level customer relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
- Strong customer focus (internal and external).
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Comfort with ambiguity and incomplete information.
- Valid state driver's license with proof of insurance.
- Personal Qualities: Goal-oriented, results-driven, solution-oriented, collaborative, versatile, flexible, and adaptable.
Travel: Overnight travel >50% required.
Salary: $175,000 - $240,000 annually.
