Summary: The Director, UI/UX will be a key contributor to the growing Product Team, supporting a strategic roadmap to create world-class digital experiences. The Director will hold guest experience at the highest priority as they define the user experience and design that honors the brand promise. This position will create and maintain Aspen One design systems and user experience frameworks, ensuring scalability, quality, and consistency across all mobile and web product experiences. This position reports to the Senior Director, Product & UX.
Budgeted Salary: $150,000 to $175,000. Actual pay depends on budget and experience. All salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Location: Open to employees based in Aspen, CO area and remote employees based in Colorado, California, or New York.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and communicate vision for UI/UX designs supporting business goals, user needs, and product objectives
- Communicate design strategies, rationale, and insights to stakeholders and senior leadership, advocating for user-centric design, accessibility, usability, and innovative experiences.
- Create and uphold scalable and consistent design systems for all digital products, accelerating scalability, establishing digital standards, and improving speed to market.
- Establish and enforce experience frameworks and design standards for harmonious cross-brand customer journeys across mobile, web, and e-commerce.
- Manage design vendors and internal designers across multiple platforms and development lifecycles.
- Lead usability testing and user research to inform design decisions and support product roadmaps.
- Ensure all designs are accessible and inclusive, maintaining compliance with evolving standards.
- Collaborate with Product Team to ensure roadmap synergy across multiple platforms.
- Leverage emerging technologies to improve digital experiences meeting evolving customer expectations in travel and tourism.
- Collaborate on the Aspen One digital experimentation roadmap, using insights to support design decisions and hypotheses.

Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 7+ years combined experience in UI/UX Design for mobile app, web, and/or e-commerce, with at least 3 years in a Senior Designer, Principal Designer, or Director role, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years leading and managing design teams (internal, vendor, or combination).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Demonstrated mastery of user-centered design, information architecture, and interaction design.
- Proficient knowledge of Jira or other project management applications.
- Command of design tools like Adobe Creative Suite or Figma.
- Proficient experience with matrixed teams and vendor partners.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of mobile and web native design, delivering experiences that unite brand portfolios across the customer journey.
- Experience with modular design systems.
- Experience in travel, tourism, leisure, ski resort, luxury retail, or hospitality industries (helpful).
- Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
- Adaptability to process changes.
- Ability to work independently.
