The Editorial Intern contributes to ONC’s mission of providing nonpartisan news, opinions, and policy solutions by completing essential tasks for the Editorial Team at ONC.
Editorial Interns will be responsible for correcting grammatical and stylistic errors in ONC written content, as well as fact-checking this content to prevent errors and maintain accuracy.
Editorial Interns collaborate with Policy Content Writers as well as the rest of the organization.
This position is remote.
Responsibilities:
- Edit written content to maintain grammatical integrity for the ONC website and mobile app.
- Ensure ONC's commitment to nonpartisanship, ideological diversity, and civil debate is reflected in all published work.
- Participate in civil dialogue with writers.
- Fact-check written content to prevent errors and maintain accuracy.
Skills, Education, and Experience:
- Current student working towards a degree in English, Literature, Political Science, Journalism, Communications, and/or related fields.
- Exceptional writing skills (English).
- High attention to detail.
- Prior editing experience preferred, specifically with AP style.
- Responsive, consistent, and effective communicator.
- Ability to work remotely and on their own schedule in order to make deadlines.
- Google Workspace experience preferred.
