Contractor Extensibility Engineer - 100% Remote

Arista Networks is seeking Extensibility Engineers to join the Professional Services (Software Development) team.

This global team of software engineers delivers high-quality, robust software to customers and internal colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Network automation: Develop innovative frameworks using cutting-edge network automation.
2. Software customizations: Design and implement solutions for advanced networking infrastructure deployment and operation.
3. Efficiency enablement: Build software tools to enhance productivity in network deployment, migration, and operation.

Required Qualifications:

• Masters or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• Proficiency in Python, Go, C++, C, or Rust
• Expertise in version control systems (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket)
• Knowledge of testing frameworks (PyTest, GoMock)
• Understanding of IP networking and/or distributed systems
• Unix or Linux experience
• Comfortable with all phases of the software development life cycle
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Strong intellect and a willingness to learn and develop

Desired Experience:

• Experience with CI platforms (e.g. GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
• Familiarity with container technologies (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes) and service orchestration (e.g. Ansible, Terraform)
• Familiarity with Nautobot or Netbox
• Familiarity with Itential Automation Platform
• Experience with data center networking, management, and orchestration
• Experience building third-party software integrations and APIs
• Experience working in a customer-facing role

Other Details:

• 12-month contract with potential extension
• Base salary range: $89,000 - $140,000
