Contractor Extensibility Engineer

Arista Networks is seeking Extensibility Engineers to join the Professional Services (Software Development) team.

This global team delivers high-quality, robust software to customers and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Network automation: Developing innovative frameworks leveraging network automation techniques.
2. Software customizations: Designing and implementing solutions for advanced networking infrastructure deployments.
3. Efficiency enablement: Building software tools to improve productivity for deployments, migrations, and network operations.

Qualifications

• Essential
• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• Proficiency in Python, Go (Golang), C++, C, or Rust
• Expertise in version control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub)
• Knowledge of testing frameworks (e.g., PyTest)
• Understanding of IP networking and/or distributed systems
• Experience with Unix or Linux
• Comfortable in all phases of the software development lifecycle
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Strong intellect with a willingness to learn and develop
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotation

• Desirable
• Experience with CI platforms (e.g., Jenkins)
• Familiarity with container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), service orchestration (e.g., Ansible, Terraform)
• Familiarity with Nautobot or Netbox
• Familiarity with Itential Automation Platform
• Experience with data center networking, management, and orchestration
• Experience building third-party software integrations and APIs
• Experience in a customer-facing role
