Consultant Responsibilities:
Utilize advanced biostatistical techniques to analyze and interpret carbon emissions/removal data, focusing on biological and ecological aspects for two bankable carbon potential projects. Ensure project documents align with donor/investor and Vietnamese government requirements.Assignment Overview:
Under supervision of the Sector Leader and Project Manager/Team Leader, collaborate with the Agri-Food Team to:
- Account for carbon potentials of regeneration/agro-forestry/AFOLU projects.
- Quantify carbon stocks using advanced biostatistical techniques.
- Develop predictive Excel models and statistical tools to forecast future carbon emissions/growth, considering biological/ecological factors.
- Forecast financial flows of proposed carbon projects.
- Advise on optimum models for bankable tree planting and agro-forestry projects.
- Contribute landscape data and analysis for agroforestry/forestry models (tree numbers/density, species, forest types, locations).
Timeframe: Late June to July 2025 (up to 10 working days).

- CV (Minimum Requirements):
- Master's degree in economics, statistics, forestry, agriculture, environmental science, or similar.
- 5+ years’ experience in carbon modelling and statistics.
- 10+ years’ experience in data collection, analysis, and interpretation related to natural ecosystems, emphasizing biostatistical data analysis.
- Background in quantifying GHG emissions in successful carbon projects.
- Proficiency in statistical modelling for forest/tree carbon and financial analysis.
- Knowledge of Gold Standard methodologies.
- Working knowledge of agroforestry and Central Highlands/North-western region.
- Familiarity with Article 6 of the Paris Agreement and carbon finance mechanisms.
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of mathematical/statistical concepts related to forest/tree growth.
- Excellent interpersonal/teamwork skills.
- Strong English and Vietnamese communication skills (written/spoken).
- Computer literacy and proficiency in statistical software and tools (e.g., Python).
