Full-Time Full Stack Developer - PHP & WordPress

Entain is seeking a talented Full Stack Developer – PHP & WordPress to join our team.

You'll play a critical role in managing our custom content CMS and sports data platform. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure systems are feature-rich, high-performing, and aligned with brand/content goals.

Responsibilities Include:

1. Collaborate with senior management to deliver feature updates/maintenance.
2. Maintain/optimize large datasets & code from 3rd party feeds.
3. Enhance/optimize in-house APIs.
4. Create/maintain/optimize widgets for internal/external use.
5. Work with IT teams on server administration.
6. Perform performance optimization.
7. Conduct bug testing, reporting, and resolution.
8. Provide regular updates on project progress/challenges.

Essential Skills:

• Proven WordPress plugin/theme development experience.
• Understanding of WordPress hooks, filters, request pipeline.
• Proficiency with HTML, CSS, jQuery, PHP MVC frameworks (e.g., Symfony).
• Linux/Ubuntu command-line & backend systems experience.
• MySQL management expertise, including query optimization and indexing.
• Caching strategies, NGINX configuration, Redis management, shell scripting.
• Experience with Docker and containerized environments.
• Familiarity with REST API design, development, and documentation.

Desired Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
• Experience debugging complex systems and resolving performance issues.
• Understanding of computational complexity, scalability, and security best practices.
• Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of backend software development experience.
• Strong WordPress development expertise (hooks, filters, actions).
• Excellent debugging skills.
