Contractor Gen AI Engineer – Remote

We’re seeking a highly skilled GenAI Engineer for remote work. Ideal candidate has strong Data Engineering and Software Development background, focusing on enhancing information retrieval and generation capabilities. Specific expertise in Azure AI Search, data processing for RAG, multimodal data integration, and familiarity with Databricks is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) models to improve information retrieval and generation.
• Develop and maintain search solutions using Azure AI Search for efficient information access.
• Process and prepare data for RAG workflows, ensuring data quality and relevance.
• Integrate and manage various data types (e.g., text, images) to enhance retrieval and generation capabilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate data into the retrieval ecosystem.
• Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of data retrieval in production environments.
• Stay updated with advancements in AI, ML, and data engineering.

Projects include:

• Azure AI Search Indexing: Implement advanced search indexing using Azure AI.
• LLM RAG Chatbot: Support development of chatbot using RAG to enhance customer support.

Requirements:

• Bachelors in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
• Masters in data science preferred.
• 8+ years experience in Data Science, MLOps, Data Engineering.
• Proven experience in AI/ML solution implementation, especially in semiconductor manufacturing.
• Proficiency in Python, building and deploying RAG pipelines or similar information retrieval systems.
• Experience with multimodal data processing for retrieval/generation.
• Strong understanding of database systems (SQL, NoSQL) and data warehousing solutions.
• Proficiency in Azure AI, Databricks, and relevant tools.
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
• Advanced written and spoken English fluency (B2 to C1/C2).
• Native Spanish/Portuguese fluency and English advanced fluency (or vice versa).
• Must be located in Latin America.
• Must have overall 6 years of experience working in a Sr Data Engineer role.

Mandatory Requirements:

• AI/ML solution implementation experience (semiconductor or any manufacturing industry).
• Python proficiency.
• Building and deploying RAG pipelines.
• Database systems knowledge (SQL, NoSQL).
• Azure AI, Databricks proficiency.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience in deploying scalable ML models.
• Advanced English fluency (B2 to C1/C2).

Important:

• Independent contractor role.
• No PTO, tax deductions, or insurance.
• Monthly payment based on hours worked.
• 100% remote position, US client.
• Contract duration: Initially through 12/31/2025, potentially extendable.
• Full-time (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM PST, Monday to Friday).
• Contractor to provide own laptop/PC.
• Expected start date: ASAP.
