The Graphic Design Assistant Temp will gain valuable experience working with Ascension’s best-in-class designers. This role will support the fast-paced Ascension Books and Merchandise team by designing and creating products, organizing files appropriately, and creating marketing materials for our team. The ideal candidate is eager to learn and a problem-solver who possesses knowledge of the Catholic faith. This job is a temporary position with the potential for hiring.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create marketing images for book and merchandise promotion.
- Collaborate with the design team to create fresh, relevant book covers.
- Typeset and layout full book interiors.
- Work with editorial team to complete proofreading changes on products.
- Package final files for production/print and upload to the necessary channels.
- Create designs for merchandise products, as needed.
- Assist with other design tasks, as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
- Available for work from October 2025 - May 2026.
- Has a degree in graphic design or similar field.
- Demonstrate experience with graphic design, particularly print design.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Familiarity with the Catholic faith and Ascension’s content.
- Learns quickly.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote, and collaborative environment.
- Has at least 1-3 years of graphic design experience.
