About this role: You'll join the LFX platform team for a high-impact role in building a mission-critical application for the entire open source ecosystem. You'll be part of an open-source-obsessed team where you'll do more than writing code: you'll lead your own projects, interact with users, make architectural decisions, manage infrastructure, and be encouraged to take the initiative. You'll be contributing to a fully open-sourced codebase. Your contributions will be public, joining us in building toward an open future.
Salary Range: $50,000-$60,000 based on your experience.
Location: Fully remote within European time zones (CET +/- 2 hours).
Tech Stack: We use a modern, lightweight tech stack: Node.js backend, PostgresSQL and time-series database, Kubernetes on Oracle Cloud, Temporal for long-running workflows, Vue.js frontend, Tailwind CSS. We prioritize using best-of-breed open-source solutions.
Tasks:
- Contribute to backend systems for an application supporting developers and companies.
- Design and build scalable systems for processing large data volumes.
- Implement APIs and backend services.
- Apply best practices in backend development (clean code, testing, documentation).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Requirements:
- 2+ years professional backend experience.
- Proficiency in Node.js and SQL.
- Experience with time series databases (bonus).
- Experience with Kubernetes and Kafka (distributed systems).
- Understanding of data ingestion and processing pipelines.
- Focus on automation, high-performance, maintainable solutions.
- Strong team player.
- Professional English (written & spoken).
- Willingness to work European time zone (CET +/- 2 hours)
- (Bonus) Previously built or maintained an open-source project.
