Part-Time Interim Editor in Chief

The Banner, the official magazine of the Christian Reformed Church, is seeking an Interim Editor in Chief.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure The Banner achieves its stated purposes.
• Lead staff in planning content.
• Write editorials and columns.
• Make final decisions on manuscripts.
• Approve final copy and layout.
• Maintain readership levels.
• Consult with the advisory committee.
• Promote The Banner.
• Manage online presence.
• Maintain theological integrity.

Qualifications:

• Membership in a Christian Reformed congregation.
• In-depth knowledge of Scriptures and Reformed teachings.
• Familiarity with CRC theology and polity.
• Ability to write editorials and assess theological content.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work with senior management and advisory committee.
• Knowledge of administrative functions.
• Familiarity with digital publishing platforms.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Religious Studies, Journalism, Communications, or Media Studies.
• Significant experience in writing, editing, publishing, or journalism.
• Experience working in the Christian Reformed Church (CRC) ministry preferred.
• Previous leadership or senior editorial roles preferred.
