Job Details

Oxfam America’s US Domestic Program (USDP) seeks an energetic and enthusiastic intern to work with the New Era for Black Women Initiative 60% of the time and support Oxfam’s domestic economic and racial justice policy agenda 30% of the time.

Initiative Goal: Highlight the plight of Black women in the low-wage workforce, analyze their economic experiences, and propose policy solutions for economic mobility.

Intern Responsibilities:

  • Plan, research, and write content for blogs, communications, and presentations to raise awareness for the A New Era for Black Women initiative.
  • Coordinate and plan internal and external communications with partners and allies.
  • Monitor the work of USDP partners and allies advocating for economic justice, worker rights, gender, and racial justice.
  • Track social movements and global networks supporting workers and families.
  • Assist Public Engagement in curating photographs, graphics, video, and audio for website and social media.
  • Conduct research on economic security, climate, and labor policy.
  • Provide administrative support for meetings (note-taking, action item tracking).
  • Provide logistical support for in-person and virtual events.
  • Maintain and organize files for knowledge management, sharing with teams and collaborators.
  • Provide other administrative and project support as needed.

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant tools (Outlook, Zoom).
  • Interest in social justice and alignment with Oxfam’s values.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
