32 hour a week position for US-authorized candidates.
PURPOSE: Oxfam America seeks an Intern for its Public Engagement division. The role supports the division's communications efforts to fight inequality, end poverty, and injustice.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor and compile news mentions of Oxfam's work.
- Maintain a database of US-based journalists and support media team administration.
- Manage and respond to journalist inquiries.
- Support community events (Hunger Banquets).
- Track hashtags, influencer campaigns, conversations, and trends on social media.
- Assist with social media posting and community management.
- Review and proof digital/web content.
- Support task management in Asana (Oxfam's project management software).
- Coordinate content uploads and sign-off with Content Lead in Inuru (photo, video, and text tagging, metadata).
- Edit photos to remove duplicates/substandard shots.
- Train Oxfam staff on Inuru.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Undergraduate degree or higher.
- 1-year experience in communications or related field.
- MS Office proficiency.
- Digital/social media experience.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, oral/written communication, and organizational skills.
- Interest in social justice and Oxfam.
- Self-motivated, quick learner, and team player.
