Job Details
Prepare technical design and develop telematics product features using Java/J2EE and Database related technologies.
Collaborate with product management teams to translate specifications into high-quality deliverables in telematics product development.
Develop service and client-side code and database scripts supporting high-volume transactions.
Produce clean, unit-tested, and refactored code.
Analyze and troubleshoot production issues, designing and developing solutions to fix defects.
Analyze and report production issue and ticket trends, providing recommendations.
Analyze current technology, develop steps to improve and expand upon it.
Manage production issue triage, tracking, and troubleshooting. Create and maintain tickets, assign tasks, and follow up with vendors.
Satisfy customer requests, provide resolution strategies for incoming issues.
Identify root causes of technical issues and create RCA documents. Coordinate root cause analysis and recurring problem management meetings.
Maintain knowledge of production system, best practices, tools and techniques.
Identify and address issues and risks within the Issue/Incident Management program.
Interact with project teams for new products, providing technical insights.
Work with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements include:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years experience in development and design with Java, J2EE and database technologies
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role supporting management
Preferred Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years recent experience in Java and J2EE technologies
- Experience in J2EE technologies (Spring, iBatis/MyBatis, ORM, REST/SOAP, Java design patterns, MVC, JMS, Servlets)
- Hands-on experience with databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL)
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD)
- Experience deploying applications on J2EE servers (JBoss, WebLogic, Tomcat)
- Production incident and issue management experience
- Experience in complex, multi-vendor projects
- Experience coordinating with stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and with a team
Nice to haves include:
- Knowledge of SOA vs micro services
- Knowledge of connected car architecture
- Experience writing/maintaining functional and technical design documents
- Experience with Jenkins, JIRA, Eclipse, Git, Bitbucket, Unix
- Front-end technology knowledge (web/smart phone)
- Knowledge of SSL/TLS
- Understanding of networking protocols
