Contractor Java Software Engineer

You will be working for a US-based technology company helping independent retailers adopt e-commerce. The role will work on a team to build products for retailers' digital needs.

Responsibilities:

• Develop new products as a member of a Scrum team.
• Own and drive technical implementation of product features.
• Execute and promote software development best practices (CI/CD, code scanning, testing, automated build pipelines).
• Provide guidance, mentoring, and code reviews to junior developers.
• Assist with software designs to meet Product Owners' needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, system administrators) for seamless integration and deployment.
• Identify and troubleshoot performance issues and implement optimizations.

Requirements:

• Proficient in at least one modern programming language (Java, JavaScript, Python).
• BS in Computer Science (or related field) OR equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Vue, Next.js).
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL).
• Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, GCP).
• Experience with Secure Development Coding practices (a plus).
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
