Note: This is a volunteer, unpaid role. It may be possible to make it a long-term internship, per agreement.
Are you the next generation of entertainment journalists? A Hot Set is seeking a long-term (12-month commitment) Editor. This position is unpaid, part-time, and remote.
Responsibilities:
- Site manager (under Publisher direction).
- Assist in selecting and supervising site contributors.
- Assist in assigning content aligned with target demographic.
- Help contributors develop AP Style articles from ideas to completion.
- Review and approve content; cross-check citations and references.
- Meet deadlines and production requirements.
- Create and distribute staff-related information.
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Metro New York, San Francisco, Miami, Los Angeles, and Chicago residents encouraged to apply; location not required.
Skills & Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Expert knowledge of AP Style.
- Strong judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent time management skills.
- In-depth understanding of communication and mass media.
- Experience with online content media platforms.
- Strong interest in film, television, theater, and content creation.
- Previous editorial or content management experience (or relevant site management experience).
