Contractor Learning Technologist – Contract

Are you a future-focused Learning Technologist ready to drive digital transformation in learning? We’re looking for a strategic thinker with excellent hands-on expertise in next generation learning technologies—from AI-powered tools and adaptive learning to modular, scalable digital ecosystems.

This high-impact contract role will be pivotal in delivering scalable, engaging, and modern learning journeys that support modular, personalised, AI-enabled, and trackable solutions.

You'll work closely with Product Management, Learning Experience Design, and Technology teams to assess current platforms, scope and prototype new solutions, and lead the implementation of impactful pilots.

1. Assess the Tech Landscape: Evaluate the current learning technology ecosystem and uncover opportunities for modernisation and scale.
2. Deliver Future-Fit Solutions: Bring fit-for-purpose, forward-thinking technologies into the learning experience—adaptive pathways, AI support tools, and robust learner tracking.
3. Pilot & Prototype: Launch and test impactful pilots that lay the foundation for scalable, next-gen learning products.
4. Enable Digital Innovation: Bridge the gap between learning design and platform architecture, ensuring new solutions are aligned with platform and security standards.
5. Build Internal Capability: Equip teams with the skills and confidence to adopt and expand the use of emerging learning technologies.
6. Document What’s Next: Create a Best Practice Playbook capturing lessons, recommendations, and future-ready operating models for digital learning tech.

Experience & Skills Needed

• Demonstrated expertise in learning technology, digital ecosystems, and future-focused tools.
• Hands-on experience with AI-enhanced learning, adaptive content delivery, modular platforms, and learner analytics.
• Strong track record in piloting and delivering innovative technology solutions in learning and development environments.
• Excellent collaboration with Product, Tech, and L&D teams to drive adoption and scale.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to balance innovation with practicality and delivery.
• Passion for emerging trends in digital learning and a commitment to staying ahead of the curve.
