Job Details
Responsibilities: Assist in responding to subpoenas, discovery requests, and regulatory inquiries by gathering and organizing documents, preparing evidence (RFPs and ROGs) for pleadings. Organize and manage documentation, including intradepartmental databases (e.g., HR/IT databases, emails, files, etc.).
Assist In-House Counsel in reviewing, editing, and drafting agreements, waivers, and business contracts.
Act as a liaison among parties (courts, neutrals) for scheduling and information sharing.
Organize and manage documents, including spreadsheets and retrieval systems for tracking legal defense costs, possible indemnity, and self-insured retention funds.
Assist with reviewing, tracking, and managing insurance claims (property damage, liability, employee matters), creating and updating master trackers.
Maintain legal calendar (depositions, deadlines, mediations) for In-House Counsel and others.
Track and organize risk management information and documentation (incidents, etc.).
Document Management: Organize, file, index, and maintain document databases (vendor agreements, service contracts), tracking key dates (renewals, terminations, expirations).
Billing and Timekeeping: Track billable hours and expenses for client matters with external parties.
Additional responsibilities: Other duties or projects may be involved.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required.
Preferred: Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or similar role.
