As a Benefit Advisor, you'll assist Medicare-eligible participants in selecting insurance plans. Expect daily phone conversations, requiring patience and knowledge in explaining healthcare insurance products. Active Resident State Life and Health Insurance license is required.
Compensation: $21.00/hr. with significant incentive potential during the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (Oct-Dec). Bonuses & incentives typically range from $500-$1,000 per month, with top performers earning over $2,000+. Responsibilities:
- Complete required certifications for local and national insurance carriers.
- Use a consultative approach to understand retiree needs.
- Conduct eligibility and needs analysis for suitable plan options.
- Effectively communicate costs and benefits of multiple plans empathetically.
- Recommend plans based on individual needs and assist in decision-making.
- Maintain professionalism and patience with all callers.
- Participate in outbound call campaigns and scheduled appointments.
- Work effectively in a diverse call center team.
- Adhere to all legal regulations.
Requirements:
- Strong computer skills and self-motivation for continuous improvement.
- Patience and ability to understand participant needs, even if not clearly articulated.
- Adaptable communication style based on region, client, and medical needs.
- Overcoming objections with knowledge, patience, and understanding.
Training:
- Two-week virtual training class.
- One week of on-the-job training with a new team (nesting).
Skills:
- Active Resident State Life and Health Insurance license.
- Understanding of agent appointment and carrier certification requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and multitasking.
- Ability to learn new proprietary computer systems.
- Experience in needs-based sales (preferred).
- Autonomous work in a self-paced team environment.
- Professional and courteous communication.
- Ability to analyze insurance documents.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Understanding of required insurance certifications.
Work from Home Requirements:
