Opportunity Overview:This is a fantastic opportunity for an outstanding individual to join a rapidly growing digital health company as a Medical Policy Writer. You'll work closely with scientific literature researchers, clinical leadership, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to ensure smooth information flow, facilitate policy development, and maintain up-to-date medical guidelines. Your role is crucial in drafting, refining, and finalizing medical policies based on comprehensive scientific evidence.

What you will do:

  • Policy Development Facilitation: Draft, refine, and finalize medical policy documents. Collaborate with researchers to incorporate scientific evidence. Facilitate working sessions for policy refinement. Provide feedback and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Medical Policy Updates and Maintenance: Keep medical policy definitions current and accurate. Regularly update policies with scientific evidence and best practices. Handle requests, reviews, and updates, ensuring compliance with CMS policies like NCDs and LCDs.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Foster strong relationships with policy writers, medical directors, and clinical leadership. Effectively communicate policy changes and updates.
  • Quality Assurance and Review: Conduct quality checks on policy documents before approval. Ensure consistency and accuracy. Implement a robust review process with internal and external experts.
  • Training and Development: Develop and deliver training sessions for policy writers. Provide ongoing support and mentorship to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Documentation and Process Management: Maintain comprehensive documentation of policy development processes. Develop and manage a repository for policy documents and related resources. Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and accessible.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track and report on policy development project progress. Provide updates to senior management on status, challenges, and achievements. Utilize data and metrics to assess effectiveness.

Your background & requirements:

  • Required Experience: Bachelor's in nursing or advanced degree (e.g., Master's in Public Health, Health Science, Healthcare Administration). 3-5 years of experience in medical writing, policy development, or scientific literature research and vetting. Familiarity with CMS policies (e.g., NCDs and LCDs). Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Preferred: Strong communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders. Detail-oriented.
  • Additional Skills: Remote work experience. Proficient with collaboration tools (e.g., Confluence). Utilization review experience is a plus.
