About The Role
We’re looking for a Medical Student Content Writer to join our team on a part-time basis. You will be responsible for creating medically accurate, easy-to-understand guides for patients. This role is ideal for a medical student with a passion for patient education. You will also be responsible for translating complex medical and scientific information into clear, actionable guides that empower patients to better understand their health, conditions, and treatment options. The content you create will serve as a trusted resource for patients navigating their healthcare journey.
You’ll Be Responsible For
- Creating Patient-Friendly Guides: Researching and writing comprehensive guides on various medical conditions and treatments, ensuring all content is tailored for patients. The guides must explain things in an easy to understand way, free of jargon.
- Ensuring Medical Accuracy: Thoroughly researching all topics using reliable, evidence-based sources such as peer reviewed journals and reputable health organisations. References for each guide will be captured.
- Focus on Clarity: Creating English language guides based on the pre-defined structure and examples, using clear sub-heading, bullet points, and simple language to enhance readability for patients.
- Collaborate and Refine: Working closely with our editorial team to review and edit content, ensuring it is accurate, consistent with our brand voice, and meets the needs of patients.
About You
- Current Enrolment: Must be currently enrolled in an accredited medical school program.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to simplify complex medical topics into patient friendly language.
- Research Skills: Strong research ability and a meticulous attention to detail to ensure all information is medically sound.
- Empathy: A genuine interest in, and understanding of the patient perspective.
- Self-Motivation: The ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
