Job Details
Training: All new Faculty Members receive specific training from Walden University in online teaching techniques, electronic learning platform use, school/college policies, procedures, and degree programs, university culture, academic integrity assessment, and research supervision of theses/dissertations.
Course Teaching/Availability: Faculty Members are assigned a course taught via the Canvas platform. They interact with students, respond to questions within 48 hours, and verify student submissions.
Travel Requirements: Occasional travel (minimum once per quarter) for residencies/pre-practica may be required.
Residencies: Contributing Faculty may attend residencies/pre-practica for teaching intensives/colloquia and facilitating discussions.
Tools/Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), zip software, Adobe Acrobat, and reliable internet access is essential.
Licensing/Certification: Appropriate credentials (earned degree, licensure/license eligibility, and license/certification maintenance) are required, along with maintaining currency in research.
Education and Experience:
- Earned doctorate in Counselor Education from a CACREP accredited program.
- Current state licensure as a Counselor.
- Minimum three years experience teaching/mentoring Master's/Doctoral students, including thesis/dissertation research direction.
- Ability to provide leadership, mentoring, support for program assessment, address student questions, and supervise field training.
- Commitment to diversity and social change, working with non-traditional students.
- Ability to participate in residencies/pre-practica, national faculty meetings, and other travel.
Work Environment: Primarily office-based, with potential for moderate noise exposure, and extended computer use.
Compensation: Graduate course instruction: $1,560 - $4,080 per quarter/semester; Undergraduate course instruction: $700 - $2,200 per quarter, depending on course type, experience, location, licensure, and market factors.
