Backblaze is a leading object storage company in the open cloud movement. We're looking for a Mid-Level Full Stack Web Developer to build internal and customer-facing features.
What You'll Do:
- Build customer-facing features.
- Work on server-side APIs for user authentication, backup handling, data management, and data restoration.
- Convert mock-ups to functional web pages (HTML/ReactJS).
- Lead technical planning, requirements gathering (estimate, architect/design, develop, test, deliver).
- Diagnose and resolve customer issues.
- Mentor junior developers.
The Right Fit:
- 3+ years of Java, Servlets, Apache Tomcat experience.
- Solid software development experience in the Java ecosystem.
- Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES5), and JavaScript frameworks (ReactJS).
- Familiarity with jQuery, Bootstrap, AJAX, cross-browser compatibility, and security best practices.
- Experience with unit testing, code reviews, and mainstream software tools (Jira, Jenkins, Git, Splunk).
- Understanding of HTTP and security best practices.
- Plus (Preferred): Experience with ES2015+, user behavior testing, Flux, Redux, SASS, Node, JSP, Python, Cassandra, automation testing, end-to-end testing (Selenium WebDriver), SEO, large-scale systems, and cross-platform development (Linux/Mac/Windows).
- Passionate about usability and interface design.
- Team player comfortable working independently.
- Diligent in quality control and delivering stable code.
