Contractor Object Script Programmer

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and deploy applications using InterSystems ObjectScript and associated tools.
• Implement object-oriented and procedural code to meet system requirements.
• Build and optimize queries, stored procedures, and scripts for InterSystems Cach or IRIS databases.
• Develop multi-model database applications using persistent classes and SQL.
• Debug, optimize, and enhance existing ObjectScript code and system workflows.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and implement solutions for system efficiency.
• Develop and maintain interfaces using InterSystems Ensemble or IRIS for Health.
• Handle HL7, FHIR, or custom integration needs for data exchange in healthcare or financial systems.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for developed applications and workflows.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, database administrators, and QA teams.
• Provide technical support and guidance to users and junior developers.
• Train staff on ObjectScript-based applications and workflows.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proficient in InterSystems ObjectScript.
• Strong understanding of database development, including relational and object-oriented paradigms.
• Experience with InterSystems technologies like Cach, IRIS, or Ensemble.
• Familiarity with web services (REST/SOAP), JavaScript, and other scripting languages is a plus.
• Ability to work with SQL and dynamic SQL in ObjectScript.
• Familiarity with healthcare standards such as HL7, FHIR, and EDI is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems.

Educational and Experience Background:

• Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications in InterSystems technologies are a plus.
• 3+ years of experience in ObjectScript development.
• Experience in healthcare IT or financial systems is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud-hosted InterSystems IRIS deployments.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices for managing ObjectScript projects.
• Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.

Physical Requirements:

• Predominantly Sedentary work. Work is performed in an office or home office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Requires the ability to walk short distances.
• Exerting up to 15 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
• Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
