Contractor Paralegal Consultant - Contract

As a Paralegal Consultant, you'll support legal, transactional, compliance, and administrative matters, including negotiating and drafting software & data licensing arrangements for our US business, and potentially other regions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support business leaders in achieving their targets.
• Support North American sales organization, especially government teams.
• Handle legal-related customer support.
• Train US sales team on legal aspects of commercial contracts.
• Manage incoming and outgoing contracts.
• Manage legal vendors.
• Collaborate on global legal projects with APAC and US Counsels.
• Maintain and update contract management system and operational contracts register.
• Ensure document retention practices.
• Maintain library of templates, forms, and clauses.
• Assist internal counsel and business clients to improve practices.
• Deep understanding of Legal team and Operations.
• Maintain and draft legal policies.
• Manage a portion of the outside budget.
• Analyze data and statistics.
• Manage technology for the legal team.
• Create and implement process improvements.
• Manage administrative tasks for the Legal team.
• Other tasks as required by the global legal department.
• Adhere to private equity responsibilities and local legislative requirements.
• Comply with company guidelines and the corporate Code of Conduct.
• Keep up to date with legislative requirements.
• Act ethically with company assets and people.

Requirements:

• Paralegal studies, certificate, or diploma in law (or equivalent) or 4+ years of experience in legal support.
• Experience in drafting legal documents.
• Ability to handle fast-paced environment and complex problems.
• Strong commercial and corporate law knowledge, with a background in intellectual property law (technology context).
• Experience with negotiating government contracts preferable.
• Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce.
• Ability to communicate and negotiate with internal and external parties.
• Ability to provide commercially focused advice in simple language.
• Successful cross-functional collaboration history.
