Post Doctoral Fellowship - PhD Industrial/Organizational Program
Training: All new Fellows receive ongoing training in teaching practices, use of an e-learning platform, school/college policies, procedures, and degree programs. Training also includes socialization into Walden University culture, assessment of academic integrity (using www.turnitin.com), and mentoring.
Course Observation/Shadowing & Teaching: Fellows shadow a mentor their first term, then teach assigned courses using the Canvas platform. Interaction with students through the platform is essential. Discussion boards operate 24/7. Postings to the classroom should be completed promptly, and responses to student questions within 48 hours (per Faculty Handbook). Fellows verify student submissions, provide feedback and grades via Canvas. Substantive feedback on assignment rubrics is required within 5 days of submission.
Availability: Walden expects Fellows and faculty to be accessible to students beyond discussion boards. Publish availability in syllabi, classroom information, or other appropriate documents.
Fellowship Commitments: Participate virtually in Kick-offs, coaching sessions, professional development, shadowing, teaching, and supervisor/mentoring meetings. Develop and reflect on an annual plan with specific goals for each term, collaboratively with a coach and supervisor.
Residencies: Faculty may attend domestic or international residencies for intensives, colloquia, and university-wide discussions (part-time faculty may participate, but are not required). Supervisor approval is required.
Additional Responsibilities: As determined by program leadership and defined in the annual plan.
Other Duties: As assigned.
Compliance: Adhere to all policies and standards.
Requirements:
- Education: PhD in I/O Psychology or closely related field (or recognized by country's Ministry of Education)
- Skills: Working knowledge in job analysis, psychometric testing, people analytics, individual/group behaviors, personnel selection, consulting/change management, I/O psychology ethics/standards, I/O testing/measurement, quantitative/qualitative research methods.
- Commitment: To diversity, excellent communication/interpersonal skills, effective mentoring, a collaborative approach to teaching, demonstrated teaching excellence at the graduate level
- Licenses/Certifications: SHRM-SPHR certification (preferred), Situational Leadership II certification (preferred)
- Experience: Journal publication experience
- KSAs: Adequate computer setup (computer, keyboard, pointing device, monitor), proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), zip software, Adobe Acrobat, reliable internet access (with backup plan)
- Commitment: To advocating for distance learners and fostering Walden's Community of Care and Sense of Belonging.
- Other: Maintain licenses/certifications, stay current with research (articles, journals, presentations), and appropriately credentialed/licensed/license-eligible. May publish research with Walden University acknowledgement.
Travel: Some travel may be required for residencies, conferences, faculty meetings, or commencement activities (supervisor approval).

Compensation:
- Graduate Instruction: $1,560 - $4,080 per quarter/semester (dependent on course type/length)
- Undergraduate Instruction: $700 - $2,200 per quarter (dependent on course type/length)
Actual pay may be adjusted based on relevant factors, including course type, experience, training, location, licensure, certifications, market factors, departmental budgets, and responsibility.
