The West Region Dams and Reservoirs team of AECOM is actively seeking a part-time Principal Hydraulics Engineer with experience related to dam projects, focusing on hydraulic structures.
Responsibilities:
- Provide senior technical input and review of hydraulic evaluation and modeling, and hydraulic structures evaluation, modeling, and design.
- Ensure hydraulic and related designs comply with contractual obligations, standards, and design documents.
- Ensure QA/QC procedures are implemented and deliverable quality is maintained.
- Lead responses to client comments on hydraulic design elements.
- Incorporate innovation in design and delivery, supporting engineers, designers, and specialists in hydraulic and related design documents and contract deliverables.
- Provide senior technical input and review of reports, drawings, and specifications for water storage and hydropower dams.
- Prepare and present technical presentations to project teams, clients, and review boards.
- Perform dam safety inspections.
- Participate in potential failure mode analyses and risk analyses.
- Train, mentor, and develop staff, supporting career growth.
- Interface with project teams, clients, and subcontractors.
- Comply with company safety policies.
