Job Title: Program Coordinator – eat! Food Distribution
Status: Non-Exempt; Part-time (with potential to go full-time)
Reports To: Director, eat! Food Distribution
Location: Hybrid - Remote & On-Site at Farmers’ Markets
Compensation: Starting at $25/hour
Schedule: 28 hours a week, up to 8-hour shifts, WED-SUN. Typically 3 Days at Markets (Driving shifts), 1-2 days remote
About eat! Food Distribution Program The eat! Program distributes fresh, local produce to families in need throughout LA & Ventura Counties, in conjunction with community partners. It also curates a seasonal CSA program for market shoppers and a wholesale delivery program for restaurants, schools, and community partners.
Responsibilities
- Assist with bulk deliveries, communication with farmers & community partners.
- Assist with invoicing, spreadsheet tracking, and organizational duties.
- Manage CSA membership communications (newsletter, emails, weekly selection).
- Work on-site at farmers markets, packing & delivering orders.
- Attend farm visits, community partner site visits, and related events.
- Assist with managing the eat! online platform.
- Assist with transportation of food wares.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 1 year experience in a project coordinator or similar role.
- Clean driving record and experience driving a 15-passenger van or smaller (or company-owned vehicle).
- Experience fulfilling, packing, and delivering orders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in an organized manner.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Multilingual (Spanish proficiency preferred).
- Proficiency with social media and technology.
- Experience working in community food systems in Los Angeles.
- Experience with underserved/low-income communities.
- Experience with surveys and assessments.
Physical Demands
- Regular standing, sitting, talking, hearing, using hands/fingers.
- Stooping, kneeling, squatting, lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Outdoor work in various weather conditions.
