Part-Time Quiz Producer & Lead Writer

Saturday Quiz Time is a weekly publication that sends thousands of Australians a jam-packed edition of quizzes and puzzles every Saturday morning.
Are you a highly skilled quiz and puzzle enthusiast? We are looking for a Lead Quiz Writer & Producer to lead our weekly edition's creation, editing, and delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the entire production pipeline, from brainstorming quiz category ideas to scheduling SMS and email.
• Collaborate with writers, editors, and verifiers to maintain high standard and unique style.
• Create original, engaging quiz categories that challenge and enlighten our audience.
• Assist in the creation and editing of weekly puzzle offerings, including fan favorites like "Who Am I", "Quizmaster Flash", and "Out of Order".
• Liaise with freelance content contributors.
• Send draft links to verifiers and executive producers, and implement feedback.
• Manage weekly content workflow via GitHub content management system.
• Lead the writing, editing, and delivery of monthly "Selects" quizzes.
• Revise, edit, and proofread content for accuracy, clarity, and interest.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience in producing, editing, and delivering high-quality content.
• Native English speaker or exceptionally proficient EAL.
• Strong knowledge of Australian history and culture.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Familiarity with various quiz formats and keen interest in puzzles and games.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with American-style crosswords.
• Experience with Markdown format.

Benefits:

• Permanent part-time position (2 days/16 hours per week).
• Flexible hours; examples: Monday draft, Friday final.
• Fully remote position.
• Salary: $75,000 - $95,000 (pro-rata).
• Must be located in Australia.
• Must be available most Saturday mornings (standby).
