Regional Sales Director is responsible for leading a team of Account Executives within a designated region, focused on the effective promotion of SHIELD to general practice providers. The role requires prospecting, identifying early adopter lists, and generating adoption of SHIELD. Essential tasks also involve partnering with regional labs, securing phlebotomy draw agreements, building relationships with key thought leaders, and managing a team of 8-12 Account Executives.
Responsibilities Include:
- Recruiting, hiring, coaching, and developing Account Executives.
- Leading team performance through effective coaching and motivation.
- Managing sales targets and reporting progress to management.
- Forecasting and achieving quarterly and annual sales goals.
- Ensuring effective use of sales processes and marketing materials.
- Managing open territories and recruiting new personnel.
- Developing and implementing a comprehensive business plan.
- Collecting customer insights, market trends, and competitive data.
- Leveraging product expertise to present technology and clinical benefits.
- Collaborating with Key Account Managers and commercial team members.
- Maintaining effective communication and collaboration within and outside the team.
- Demonstrating Guardant Health Values.
- Leveraging Medical Science Liaisons and company resources for technical and clinical support.
- Participating in regional and national projects.
- Ensuring sales force compliance with Quality, Regulatory, and Company policies.
- Meeting customer access requirements, extensive field travel.
- Requirements include 7+ years of direct sales experience, 3+ years of sales leadership experience, demonstrable revenue generation, experience leading teams for products/services targeting primary care providers, and proven track record of exceeding expectations. Strong influencing, interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills are essential.
Additional Requirements:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience using and coaching to different sales methodologies.
- Proven ability to maintain market, customer, distribution, and product knowledge.
- Outstanding strategic business analysis and planning skills.
- Ability to develop cross-functional relationships, work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet critical deadlines.
- Excellent use of Salesforce.com.
- B.S. in life science, biology, business, or marketing is preferred.
