Faculty are central to student and institutional success. As Unitek Learning expands, faculty support and coaching are crucial to exceptional student learning. The Faculty Coach will support faculty members by reviewing courses, providing feedback, and ensuring academic quality.
Responsibilities Include:
- Reviewing courses and providing constructive feedback.
- Using performance data to identify coaching/training opportunities.
- Regularly evaluating faculty performance, documenting efforts, and noting outcomes.
- Analyzing documentation to identify trends for educational initiatives.
- Addressing faculty concerns, ensuring expectations are met, and student support is provided.
- Collaborating with scheduling, training, leadership, and others for continuous improvement.
- Reviewing online classrooms to ensure expectations are met.
- Recognizing and promoting excelling faculty.
- Building faculty community through engagement and team-building activities.
- Providing feedback on faculty participation and quality of student learning contributions.
- Coaching on best practices for student success (active learning, engagement, support).
- Collaborating with faculty on feedback, recommendations, and elevating concerns to stakeholders.
- Mentoring faculty on instructional resources, technology, engagement, teaching, and student success.
- Escalating concerns about course quality or adherence to standards.
- Collaborating with leadership to improve academic programs.
- Staying updated on higher education pedagogy and andragogy.
- Assisting with faculty workshops, training, and resources.
- Maintaining accurate records of course reviews, feedback, and recommendations.
- Performing other assigned duties.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree or higher in a relevant field (education, instructional design, etc.).
- Prior online teaching or faculty support experience in higher education.
- Knowledge of learning management systems (LMS).
- Nursing faculty experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of pedagogical principles, instructional design models, and assessment strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback and support.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, administrators, and other stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to promoting excellence in teaching and learning.
